If you have an old cat, you can help make its bed more comfortable by placing heated tiles underneath it. Use a terra cotta tile to help relieve your cat’s aches and pains; put it in the oven on low heat – 200 degrees or so – for 15 minutes. Wrap it tightly in a towel and place it under the cat bed. If necessary, repeat this every few hours.
If you have a male cat, it is important to have him neutered before he goes into heat. When male cats start maturing, they will begin to spray around the house. It smells like ammonia and is hard to remove. Having your male cat neutered can help to prevent this from happening.
Give your new cat some space. Moving to a new home can be stressful on a cat, especially one who is no longer a kitten.
